Four Tips To Help You Drink More Water

Posted on: 3 February 2017

It's no secret that drinking plenty of water is good for your health. When you stay hydrated, you feel more energetic, experience better digestion, and have a lower risk of kidney stones. But sometimes, meeting your recommended daily water intake can be challenging. Here are some tips to help.

Purchase some water flavoring drops.

Several companies make water flavoring drops. They come in a little squeeze bottle, and you add a few drops to your glass of water right before you drink it. You can find all sorts of flavors, from grape to cotton candy. Add a couple of drops for a slight flavor, or more drops to create a sweeter drink. You'll have an easier time drinking more water when it has an interesting flavor! Carry the drops with you in your purse or bag so you can use them throughout the day.

Keep track on your phone.

There are several smartphone apps that are designed to help you track your water intake. You could also just write yourself a note in your notes app and update it whenever you drink another glass. Promise yourself a small reward every time you meet your goal water intake for the day. This could be a piece of candy, five minutes playing your favorite game, or watching an episode of your favorite TV show. Your desire for the reward will keep you drinking water and tracking your intake all day long.

Share your goals with others.

Tell your coworkers, partner, and others who you spend time with that you're trying to drink more water. If they're aware of your goals, they can remind you to drink more throughout the day. You may even find that they share your goal. Many people aim to drink more water!) In this case, you can discuss how you're feeling after staying better hydrated, strategies for drinking more water, and so forth. Feeling like you have someone else's support will help motivate you to reach your water-drinking goals.

Find a water bottle you love.

If you always have water with you, you'll be more likely to drink it. So visit some stores in your area, and find a water bottle that you truly love using. Make sure you love the color, how it feels in your hand, and how you sip from it. Fill it up in the morning, add your water flavoring, and as soon as it's empty, fill it again. Learning to Cook Changed My Life

I have always loved to eat, and growing up, our family mostly ate take-out or dined out at restaurants. The meals we had at home were breakfast and lunch, and they were typically cereals and sandwiches. After a visit to my doctor, I learned that the fast food and take-out I had been eating my whole life was causing health problems for me. However, dining out at nightly at restaurants that served healthy foods was simply out of my budget. I bought a healthy cook book and finally bought cooking appliances for my kitchen. I then learned that healthy food can actually taste good when made at home. I have grown to actually enjoy cooking, and I have learned how to make substitutions in recipes to make them healthier. I want to share my healthy cooking tips with others, so enjoy my recipes and cooking tips!
